Southern Door Athletic Hall of Fame to Induct Class of 2023

Southern Door High School will induct two new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Feb. 3 during halftime of the boys basketball game against Sevastopol. This year’s inductees are Steve Neville, Class of 1989; and John Berns, Class of 1967.

Neville was an All-Conference wrestler and two-time state qualifier who later wrestled at UW-Stevens Point. He has coached middle school and high school wrestling for more than 20 years at Southern Door.

John Berns was a member of three conference championship teams and later returned to serve as a high school baseball and softball coach for 20 years. He was inducted into the Door County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.
