Southern Door Blood Drive Feb. 15

The Southern Door Student Council and the American Red Cross are sponsoring a blood drive on Feb. 15 in the high school gym from 9 am to 2 pm. Anyone who is at least 17 years of age (or is 16 with parental permission), weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good health may donate blood. The parental permission form can be found online at redcross.org. To sign up, you can do one of following:

• Sign up online at redcross.org by clicking on the drop-down menu item titled Give Blood. You can then search for your nearest blood drive and schedule an appointment at Southern Door High School. (You will need to type in the Brussels zip code of 54204.)

• Call the Southern Door High School office at 920.825.7333. Walk-ins are also accepted, but there may be a longer wait time. The need for blood is constant, and only volunteer donors can fill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
