Southern Door Fifth Graders Present ‘Willy Wonka, Jr.’ Jan. 26 & 27

Southern Door fifth graders present the annual musical on Jan. 26 & 27 at 7pm in the Southern Door Community Auditorium. Tickets are $6 and went on sale to the general public on Jan. 12.

The musical this year is Willy Wonka, Jr. Wonka hides golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.

Besides learning their songs and dances, Southern Door fifth graders have a school tradition of raising money for a fundraiser for the CP (Cerebral Palsy) Center for the past 35 years and during that time have raised more than $800,000. To make a donation, contact fifth grade teacher Marc Vandenhouten with your name and address at 920.825.7321 to receive a personalized letter. All donations are made payable to Cerebral Palsy.

Remember to watch the Southern Door fifth graders when they perform live on the CP Telethon on WBAY Channel 2, March 5, 2017 at 9 am.
