Spots Available for Birch Creek Programs

Birch Creek is accepting applications for summer study in Percussion & Steel Band, Symphony, Jazz (two sessions) and Vocal Jazz (new for 2014). Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.

Session dates are: June 15 – 28, Percussion & Steel Band; June 29 – July 12, Symphony; July 13 – 26, Jazz I; July 27 – Aug. 1, Jazz II; and Aug. 10 – 16, Vocal Jazz.

Known for its intense performance-based curriculum and low student to faculty ratio of 2:1, Birch Creek provides two-week resident summer programs (one-week residence for Vocal Jazz) where students study with professional musicians during the day and perform alongside them at night in up to eight concerts before paying audiences in the renovated Dutton concert barn. Additionally, students perform in smaller ensembles both before the concerts and at intermissions.
