St. John Bosco Hires New Principal

St. John Bosco Catholic School has hired Matthew Hanson – a former Sturgeon Bay resident and a St. John Bosco alumnus – as its next principal. He returns with experience in teaching, counseling and assistant-principal roles to replace Vickie Dassler, who started at the school in 2015.

Hanson is known for his energy, communication skills and ensuring that students’ best interests come first. He is highly regarded as a “difference maker” and for helping to propel both student and staff emotional well-being.

Hanson’s contract begins July 1, but he has already started working on strategies to fill open positions at the school.
