St. John Bosco Principal Receives Blue Ribbon Award

Vickie Dassler, current principal at St. John Bosco School, recently returned from her trip to Washington, D.C. where she accepted a National Blue Ribbon Award on behalf of Howard Elementary School, designated as an Exemplary High Performing School. Dassler was the principal at Howard Elementary for 14 years before accepting the principal position at St. John Bosco earlier this year. Awards are given based on the school’s overall academic excellence or its progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. All schools receiving the Blue Ribbon Award are recognized based on all student scores, subgroup student scores, and graduation rates.
