Steve Vickman to Retire as HELP of Door County Executive Director

The board of directors of HELP of Door County has announced that Executive Director Steve Vickman will retire Dec. 31, 2019.

“While it will be difficult to replace Steve’s unique skill set, we understand and support his decision to retire at this time and are very grateful for his many accomplishments and initiatives launched during his tenure with HELP,” said Jean Severson, chair of the board. “We wish him and his family the very best and are confident that our search committee will be able to find a qualified replacement who will continue Steve’s work and lead the organization into even greater success in the future!”

Vickman said, “I look forward to this new phase of my life and confess that it has been an enormous privilege to have led HELP during an important period of transformation, growth and change. I am proud to have worked with a remarkably dedicated staff who are so incredibly committed to advancing the mission of HELP of Door County. I am certain that we are well positioned to meet the growing needs of all those we serve and that HELP will continue to be that soft place to land for victims of domestic violence.”

Vickman has served in his current role since 2016. HELP’s board has begun a search for his replacement and hopes to complete the transition before the end of the year.
