Sturgeon Bay Preps for Fire & Ice Weekend

Sturgeon Bay is the place to be Feb. 17-18 when Destination Sturgeon Bay and Stone Harbor Resort present the city’s biggest party of the winter: the Fire & Ice Festival.

The weekend begins with a luminary-lit hike at Crossroads at Big Creek on Friday, 5-7 pm, complete with hot cocoa and bonfires.

Saturday brings ice and snow carvers to the downtown area to make exotic creations on the street. Warm up at Bay Shore Outfitters with marshmallow roasting on the patio and hot chocolate, and Madison Avenue Market will be offering free samples and snacks. Glas Hamr will play at Kitty O’Reillys at 2 pm. And take the free trolley to hit all the stops, including artist demonstrations and an indoor winter market, or hiking and skiing trails at Potawatomi State Park.

Saturday night’s highlights are the annual Fire & Ice dinner and auction at Stone Harbor, followed by the Fire over the Water fireworks show at 9 pm. Enjoy live music by Pink Houses and a special performance by Fox Valley Fire Arts! Purchase gala tickets at DoorCountyTickets.com.

Get brochures and maps of the sculpture locations at Destination Sturgeon Bay’s welcome center, 36 S. 3rd Ave.
