Sue Baldwin Fund Announces 2013 Pink Classic

Many community members and 120 golfers, clad in pink outfits, participated in the 2012 Pink Classic Golf Tournament. The event raised over $18,000 for the Sue Baldwin Fund. This year’s event takes place June 2 at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club.

The Pink Classic Golf Tournament committee is pleased to announce that this year’s event, benefiting the Sue Baldwin Fund, will take place on June 2 at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club.

Proceeds from this tournament support the Sue Baldwin Fund that provides breast and other cancer awareness, prevention, treatment and care for Door County residents who have an economic need. To date, many Door County residents have utilized the Sue Bald-win Fund.

Carrie Baldwin Smith established the Sue Baldwin Fund in 2007 in honor of her mother’s 10-year breast cancer remission. “This is a disease that impacts so many people and I wanted to make a differ-ence,” said Baldwin Smith. Since the fund was established, over $75,000 has been raised – with every penny remaining in Door County.

Registration is officially open to golf teams of four ($125 per play-er; $500 per team). In addition to hole prizes, prizes will be award-ed to those who are “prettiest in pink,” so golfers are encouraged to be creative in dressing for the day. Golf will be followed by an event open to the public featuring live music with Big Mouth & the Power Tool Horns, dancing, food, drinks, raffle and live auction.
