Summer Learning Academy 2024

On April 8 at sturbay.k12.wi.us, Sturgeon Bay schools will begin inviting students from neighboring districts, private schools and homeschool students to Summer Learning Academy 2024. Eighteen classes for grades K-5 take place at Sunrise Elementary, with 11 middle school classes and sports times, and four high school activities, at the secondary-school campus 8:30-11:30 Monday-Thursday, June 17-27 and July 8-12. The district is also working with the Door County YMCA to help provide take-home meals. 

Sunrise Elementary principal Katie Smullen said the elementary school students showed great interest in many of the classes, such as “Swifties” for music recording studio time; Edible Chemistry; a book-lovers class, a ukulele class; and “World Drumming” classes. 

Drop-off sites for bus rides to Sunrise Elementary or the middle school and high school campus will be at the Door County YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club.
