TAP Hosts Midwest Premiere of Call of Life Film

Call of Life, a thought-provoking film on the scope of the current mass extinction crisis, is set to have its Midwest premiere at the Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday, September 20 at 4 pm. Audience members will have the opportunity to meet both filmmaker Chera Van Burg and the film’s soundtrack composer Hans Christian at the premiere.

The film is produced by Species Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing public awareness of the threat to the Earth’s life support systems caused by dramatic extinction rates. Call of Life incorporates interviews with leading scientists, anthropologists, historians, psychologists, and visionary thinkers as it examines the collective and individual responses needed to avert the mass extinction. The film tells a compelling story of a crisis in nature and in human nature and suggests that we have been given a great opportunity: one last chance to save the wealth of our planet.

Many experts are featured in the film, including Richard Leakey, world-famous paleoanthropologist and author of The Sixth Extinction, Norman Myers, renowned Oxford University authority on biodiversity and author of The Sinking Ark, Stuart Pimm, distinguished Duke University conservation scientist and author of A Scientist Audits the Earth, and many more.

Admission to the film is free, and is followed by a reception at Studio 330, located on 330 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
