TAP Lobby Art Gallery Welcomes Frances Holt

Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) presents new work by the fine art photographer Frances Holt. The series of photographs from Holt’s recent travels was specifically selected to complement the production of Every Brilliant Thing running Sept. 7 through Oct. 15 at the year-round professional theatre in downtown Sturgeon Bay.

Born and educated in England, Holt traveled independently from a young age throughout Europe and subsequently further afield, crewing on private yachts around the world. It was a yacht that lured Holt to Door County where she is now based with her family, restoring a hand-hewn 1870s log house.

Holt’s work first came to the attention of TAP Marketing and Development Director Amy Ensign years ago during an art show at Renee Schwaller’s Off the Wheel Pottery in Egg Harbor. Ensign said, “I was drawn to Ms. Holt’s work by the detail, gentleness, and care of the artist’s view point. Holt takes everyday moments to the sublime.”
