TAP’s New Knockout

On July 30, Brian Sostek and Megan McClelland’s musical Trick Boxing opened at Third Avenue Playhouse, located at 239 N 3rd Ave., Sturgeon Bay.

Sostek and McClleand are both the creators and performers of this show. Playing multiple roles, they charm and impress in this fast-paced musical, physical comedy full of rapid-fire dialogue, high-energy dance numbers, ridiculous puppetry, a sweet old-fashioned love story and, of course, boxing.

Trick Boxing follows David Danielovich, a down-on-his-luck apple seller who is bamboozled into becoming a boxer by a shady hustler and ends up swinging his way to the championship with the aid of a wily dance hall girl named Bella.
