Tessoro Jewelry Trunk Show at Edgewood Orchard

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will be hosting a jewelry trunk show for jeweler Deborah Bushinski and her Tessoro jewelry collection, which features salvaged birch bark, reclaimed copper and semi-precious stones, from Oct. 8 through Oct. 10 from 10 am – 5 pm each day. Champagne punch and hors d’ oeuvres will be served throughout the weekend, and the public is welcome to attend.

In her first year showing at Edgewood Orchard Galleries, Bushinski explained the process she uses to create her beautiful pieces: “Working with a small family owned wood products company in Duluth, Minnesota we are able to access standing dead trees that are marked for cutting; we harvest the bark from these trees, reducing air pollution, as this bark would ultimately be burned at the mills. This bark is carefully selected for interesting surface features.”

In addition to using salvaged birch bark, Bushinski also uses reclaimed copper in her designs. “Our ‘green’ practices continue by reclaiming copper from scrapped car radiators,” she explains.

A large selection of Bushinski’s pieces have just arrived at the gallery and will be available only during this Columbus Day weekend trunk show. In addition to the trunk show, Edgewood’s “Gifts from the Heart” exhibit continues with a large selection of new artwork particularly good for gift giving, and Renee Graef’s original illustrations from the children’s book D is for Dala Horse: A Nordic Countries Alphabet are available as well.

The gallery and surrounding sculpture garden are open daily from 10 am – 5 pm until the gallery closes for the 2011 season on October 30. For more information, call 920.868.3579, email [email protected], or visit http://www.edgewoodorchard.com.
