Testing Useless Knowledge for a Cause

The Peninsula Preschool is sponsoring its popular Trivia Night February 17. The event draws a crowd of people ready to have a good time on an otherwise quiet night in the Door.

“The questions aren’t really that hard, it’s more about enjoying yourself and fundraising for the Peninsula Preschool,” said Jessica Sauter, creator of last year’s questions.

Before drawing up a list of questions, Sauter and colleagues come up with categories, such as: sports, history, pop culture and there’s always one category devoted to Door County.

“There are 10 categories, and 10 questions in each category for 100 questions total. We’ve always done monetary prizes for first, second, and third place teams,” Sauter said.

A team consists of six people. Groups can pre assemble their team and sign up together, as individuals, or pairs. All are encouraged to come and join in the fun; singles or couples will be assigned to teams that are not full; however, only 23 teams will be allowed, so early sign-up for this popular event is encouraged.

Alexander’s Restaurant hosts the event, which takes place on a Thursday night. Trivia night is 21 and over, from 6:30 – 10 pm. The cost per person is $25 and includes tap beer, food, and a rowdy night of trivia.

The Peninsula Preschool, located in Ephraim, has Tuesday and Thursday classes from 9 – 11:30 am for three-year-olds. There are also Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes for four-year-olds. For more information, contact Jessica Sauter at [email protected] or 920.421.0750.
