The Academy of Fine Art Undergoes a Seamless Transition

Craig Blietz is stepping down as the Artistic Director of The Academy of Fine Art (formerly The Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art) having been in the position for eight years. Blietz along with Academy Executive Director/ Owner Molly Johnson, have announced she will assume the role of Artistic Director. This turnover of responsibility became effective on Feb. 1.

Blietz stated, “We have been working over the past year to transfer the title and responsibilities to Molly. This change is in the best interest of the school. The Academy is moving in a very exciting direction under Mollyʼs helmsman-ship and it is time to move forward with this transfer of responsibility.”

Johnson adds, “Craig and I have worked hard together to make this a seamless transition. I feel very confident in the understanding that I have of this position.”

Blietz will continue to teach at The Academy as a regular faculty member.
