This Weekend in Door County: Death’s Door Bar-B-Q, Scavenger Hunt, Sidewalk Sales

The summer season is upon us and there are too many different activities to keep track of. Good thing The Peninsula Pulse is here to help. Check out all the fun happening in Door County this weekend.

 

Spend Friday, August 24th in Peninsula State Park on a Scavenger Hunt.  Drop by the Nature Center any time between 10am – 1pm for a this on-your-own activity.  Explore Peninsula State Park in a new and unique way by answering questions like “the name of Peninsula’s first manager.”  Fun for the whole family! On Friday night stop by the Carrington Pub in Egg Harbor to see Armchair Boogie.  This Bluegrass/Jamgrass/Funkgrass band comes at the recommendation of our Arts and Entertainment Intern, Celeste Benszhawel. Read more>>

On Saturday, August 25th, before you have to go back to Math class, Algoma’s Back to School Block Party is the first sine that summer is almost over.  Celebrate the end of summer in Legion Park with live entertainment, snacks, inflatables and activities for all ages. Read more>>

Starting at 10am is the Death’s Door Bar-B-Q Competition on Washington Island.  With free admission, enjoy arts & crafts, kids’ activities, live music from , and, of course, barbequed chicken, pork, pork ribs, and beef brisket sold by the competitors. Read more>>

Finish the weekend at Whitefish Dunes State Park for a Primitive Fire Demonstration.  See the Park Naturalist demonstrate how native peoples once created fire. Read more>>
