Thorpe Signs New Children’s Book at Novel Ideas

On Sept. 29, Novel Ideas bookstore welcomes Harold Thorpe back to Baileys Harbor to sign his hot-off-the-presses children’s book Wyatt’s Woods, which is set in Door County. Additionally, Novel Ideas will hold a Storewide 25 percent off sale (some exceptions apply) on Sept. 28 in conjunction with Baileys Harbor’s Autumn Fest and on Sept. 29.

Wyatt’s Woods is a children’s book for middle readers (grades 3-8), about a boy named Wyatt and his search for the lost Fort Mechingan and the treasure of a Potawatomi Indian boy named Red Eagle. With talking animals, American Indian lore, lessons in friendship and a 350-year-old mystery, Wyatt’s Woods is an equally great read-aloud or read-alone book, filled with illustrations by Aaron Boyd and Thorpe’s “back porch, grandfatherly writing style.”
