TKH Ice Rink Abounds with Activity

Activity is heating up at Sister Bay’s Teresa K. Hilander (TKH) Ice Rink in anticipation of the temperature cooling down.

The 1st annual Skate and Equipment Swap will be held at the TKH building on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 8 am – 12 pm. Sellers are invited to bring used skates, hockey equipment and broomball gear to Bayshore Outfitters starting Dec. 9 (Sunday, 10am – 4 pm, and Monday through Friday, 10 am – 5 pm). Sellers should set their own asking price, as they will receive 80 percent of profit and 20 percent will be donated back to the TKH Ice Rink.

In addition to the skate swap, a captains meeting for the 2012-2013 Northern Door Broomball League has been scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6 pm. Teams are asked to have their sponsorship and players fees in at this time, and if conditions allow, pick-up play will occur after the meeting at the TKH rink.

The Village of Sister Bay has contracted with the Peninsula Pacers to coordinate the 2012-2013 Northern Door Broomball League, as well as facilitate advertising at the rink. Two size banner advertisements will be sold to cover the boards for the season, and they will remain on display when the space transitions back to the Sister Bay Skate Park in spring.

Volunteers will be needed to help out with the skate swap, as well as throughout the season to assist with flooding the rink.
