Todd Snider Takes the DCA Stage

On July 28 at 7 pm, Nashville-based songwriter Todd Snider will take the Door Community Auditorium stage. Snider is an alt-country rocker whose colorful characters, wry observations, and incisive sense of humor have led some to call him the most likable man in music. Known to some as a satirical troubadour, Snider infuses his music with healthy doses of wit, story, sarcasm and politics, earning him comparisons to Johnny Cash and Bill Hicks.

Snider first drew attention from music fans and critics for his alt-rock song “Talkin’ Seattle Grunge Rock Blues,” which contained all the grit and wit that would endear Snider to listeners throughout his career. Since his debut album, Songs for the Daily Planet, was released in 1994, Snider has continued to hone his songwriting craft.

Todd Snider’s songs—part fact, part fiction, part jest, and part protest—are never boring, often surprising and always original. Spin Magazine called Snider “one of roots music’s slyest, smartest songwriters.”

melaniejane will open the show at 7 pm.

Snider’s concert is sponsored by FLS Banners and the Blacksmith Inn.

Tickets for the concert range from $18 – $32. For tickets, call 920.868.2728, visit http://www.dcauditorium.org, or stop by the DCA box office. The box office is located on Highway 42 in Fish Creek and is open 12 – 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
