Totem Sculptures And Homemade Marbles

Guests can help build a totem sculpture at the Pottery CO-OP during monthly First Friday art events in downtown Algoma, April through September.

The gallery will provide the pole base, then participants can create clay shapes to attach to it via slipping and scoring.

The finished product will be on display in the Pottery CO-OP’s courtyard once the collaborative project concludes. The venue is located at 610 4th St. in Algoma.

At this month’s First Friday event, April 5, Ladybug Glass Studio and Gallery will roll into spring with handmade marbles. Stop by to see marbles made by glassworkers throughout the country and enjoy refreshments. The gallery is located at 219 Steele St. in Algoma.

The same day, Clay On Steele will offer refreshments and colorful new work by Dale Vanden Houten, Mark Kolinski, Ellen Levenhagen and Diane Slivka. The gallery is located at 221 Steele St. in Algoma.

All events listed take place 5-8 pm.
