Town of Nasewaupee Appoints Clerk and Treasurer

The Town of Nasewaupee has hired a clerk and treasurer following the decision voters made last November to move the positions from elected to appointed, effective April 18.

Nasewaupee resident Donna Wolak will be taking over the town clerk position from Jill Lau, who is running next month for a supervisor seat on the town board, which is expanding from three to five members.

Wolak has more than 30 years of experience in accounting and finance and is now working part time for Cellcom.

She said she will continue in that position with Cellcom when she begins as Nasewaupee’s part-time town clerk, for which she will receive an annual salary of $22,000.

Christy Herschleb.

Christy Herschleb has been appointed as town treasurer to replace Carol Russell, who is retiring after holding the elected office for 52 years.

Herschleb, who has a background in corporate finance and an interest in government, said she currently lives in Neenah but plans to move into a house in Nasewaupee this summer with her husband.

As town treasurer, for which residency in Nasewaupee is not required for the part-time appointed position, Herschleb will receive an annual salary of $15,000.
