Tristan Brilla Qualifies for State in Snowboarding

Sturgeon Bay senior snowboarder Tristan Brilla has qualified for the state high school championship meet Feb. 17 at Mt. La Crosse.

Brilla, who qualified for state for the second time in his high school career, placed second overall in the Northern Ski and Snowboard Conference snowboard competition after placing second in both of the Clippers’ final two conference meets over the past week at Ski Brule and Snowriver.

Sturgeon Bay senior boys skier Ben Stephens placed 16th overall Saturday at Ski Brule and 18th overall Tuesday at Snowriver. In both meets, his runs in the Giant Slalom and Super G events enabled him to finish in the top 20.

Also at Ski Brule, Clippers senior girls skier Julia Gregory finished 16th overall, including 14th- and 15th-place finishes in the Super G and Giant Slalom events.
