Two Rivers Firm Handling Downtown Egg Harbor Project

Vinton Construction Co. will mobilize March 11 to start work for village improvements along state Highway 42 in downtown Egg Harbor, said Village Administrator Megan Sawyer.

The Two Rivers firm bid $3.99 million, beating out Dorner Inc. of Luxemburg ($4.5 million) for the core project between Church Street and Harbor School Road. The work – partially funded by a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant – includes storm sewer work, sidewalk widening, Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility improvements, curb-and-gutter replacement, new streetlights, removal of stone and concrete seats and planters and more parking spaces.

Sawyer said Vinton has expertise working in urban settings and juggling schedules in projects with “a lot of moving pieces” and subcontractors. Vinton must install curb and gutter by late May, when a Wisconsin Department of Transportation project takes over for repaving driving lanes.
