Unabridged Poet to Speak

Rolf Olson

Rolf Olson is the featured poet in the UU Fellowship’s Dickinson Poetry Series on May 14 at 7 pm. Olson has changed places in the Dickinson schedule with Hanne Gault, who will now read in December.

Rolf Olson has called Door County home since 1980. He has been a craftsman in wood and metal for 25 years, working as a boat builder and joiner, designing and building doors, cabinets, furniture and functional objects in wood and metal.

Olson began writing poetry seriously about 15 years ago. He writes about a wide variety of subjects and describes his poems as “bold, thought provoking, and entertaining.”

He is pleased to have been a member of the Unabridged Poets group for 10 years. Olson’s first chapbook, One Glass Eye, was published in 2003, and his next book, Riot at the Poets’ Café is currently in final editing.

On the second Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a local or regional poet followed by an open mic and reception. The public is welcome and there is no charge. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is located at 10341 Highway 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.7559.
