Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Presents TED Talks

On Aug. 31, at 4:30 pm, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will present two TED Talks and two short animations on income inequality. Everyone, no matter what your view or perspective, is encouraged to attend.

In a six-minute TED Talk, Nick Hanauer explains why it is the middle class – and not the wealthy – who drive our economy. Hanauer, who earns millions yearly from the many businesses he has started, is credible in what he has to say. He states that it is the middle class, not he, that is the job creator. In a 17-minute TED Talk, Richard Wilkinson explains why inequality is harmful to everyone.

After each TED Talk an open discussion will follow. The issue of income inequality is complicated and many have valid perspectives. Come, share and listen.

From TED.com, “TED is a nonpartisan nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics – from science to business to global issues – in more than 110 languages. TED: ideas worth spreading.”

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County is located at 10341 Highway 42, in north Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.7559.
