UUFDC Donates $10,000 to Ukraine Emergency-Response Fund

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC) has raised $10,000 through its Month of Sundays for Ukraine campaign to send funds to groups assisting refugees in Eastern Europe, including the Hungarian Helsinki Committee and the Poland-based FemFund.

“We’ve seen a remarkable wave of kindness and compassion from Door County directed to the Ukrainian people,” said campaign coordinator Maryanne O’Dowd. “Members and friends of UUFDC reached deep into their pockets to show support for the courage and strength of the Ukrainian people and help refugees get the safety and security they desperately need.”

As with all its emergency-relief work, UUFDC is prioritizing support for those who face discrimination, structural injustice or barriers to accessing aid. This includes women, children, LGBTQIA+ people and people of color fleeing Ukraine.
