Valmy Thresheree Chainsaw Competition

Want to channel your inner lumberjack? The Valmy Thresheree hosts a chainsaw competition on Saturday morning for anyone and everyone looking for a woodcutting challenge.

There are anywhere between 10 and 15 divisions, with each division reserved for a specific class of chainsaw. Within these divisions are separate sections for stock, antique, and modified saws.

Participants take turns competing, making three cuts through a poplar log six inches in diameter. The event is timed; whoever cuts the log in the shortest time wins their division.

Competitors should bring their own saw the morning of the competition. Registration begins at 8:30 am on Saturday, with the contest beginning at 9:30.
