Viewing Night At Crossroads…If Skies Are Clear

In November the Climate Change Coalition presented the award-winning documentary Chasing Ice at Crossroads at Big Creek. This organization arranged for Crossroads to retain unlimited screening rights for this film, so Crossroads will show it to the general public periodically and would happily present it for groups on request. On Dec. 11 at 2 pm, Crossroads will present the program in the lecture hall of the Collins Learning Center for those who missed the first showing.

On Dec. 12 at 6 pm, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society (DPAS) will host a viewing night. Join DPAS members if the sky is clear to view and learn about the night sky. DPAS members will bring telescopes and the observatory will be open. Gates open at dusk. The viewing night is free and open to the public. Meet at the Astronomy Campus 2200 Utah Street in Sturgeon Bay.

Crossroads at Big Creek is a preserve welcoming learners of all ages to programs focused on science, history and the environment. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4:30 pm daily and during scheduled events. Until snow is deep enough for grooming, all trails at Crossroads, Big Creek Cove and the Ida Bay preserve are open to hiking and biking.
