Village of Sister Bay Hears Support for Hall

The Village of Sister Bay’s Parks and Properties Committee hosted two public-input sessions to gather comments about the fate of the old village hall. About 40 people tuned in to a session held via Zoom on Aug. 30, and a full house of approximately 50 people attended an in-person meeting at the Sister Bay Fire Station on Sept. 6.

No decisions were made at either meeting, which were held for the sole purpose of gathering input about the hall and the old fire station on Mill Road, which is now a village parks and maintenance building.

The committee members heard strong support for investing in repairs to the hall and keeping it at its location in the center of Waterfront Park, where it opened in 1941. The village has debated the hall’s future for at least 15 years as repair and improvement needs have mounted and use has declined.

Committee members will discuss the hall during a future meeting before making a recommendation to the village’s board of trustees. Find out more about the meeting and the history of the village hall at DoorCountyPulse.com.
