What Happened in Door County?

Emergency Management of Door County with cooperation of the Door County Fire Chiefs has placed a temporary ban on open burning.

This ban prohibits any open burning, agriculture burning or similar legal fires until weather conditions improve. (Campfires are allowed, but not recommended, within developed campgrounds at the discretion of the camping area.)

Extreme temperatures are expected with little to no rainfall, which will continue to create drier conditions and more need to protect homes, families and properties from the exposure to fire. That means fire departments will not issue burn permits and the ban will continue until conditions improve.
