Winter Wonderland Arrives at Viva la Cottage

With a wink of her eye and a nod of her head, Angie McMahon is opening the door of Viva la Cottage for its annual Winter Wonderland event. On Saturday, October 23 the shop around the corner of Highways Q and 57 will feature a festive treat for the senses.

This is the third year that Viva la Cottage will be hosting this special event. As always, Viva la Cottage will feature its signature mix of vintage and contemporary, with inspiration for this year’s theme coming from a trade show in Dallas last January.

“It seems so long ago,” she recalled. “But we begin searching out new ideas immediately following the holidays. This year’s color combination is based on some scrumptious red and white knitted scarves which led to a happy, happy red and white theme that will greet visitors at the front door.”

This year Viva la Cottage’s holiday event will feature several distinct themes. “My favorite is New Year’s in Paris,” McMahon said. “I was also inspired by a vintage sign from a restaurant to recreate a North Woods retro diner. The themes will include a bit of everything.”

Year round Viva la Cottage is an artful mix of linens, clothing, jewelry, home accessories, furniture, soaps, candles, and cards. “Our shop is all about mixing styles, and we feature whatever strikes us as unique. We are always on the hunt for vintage, but we feel the mixing is what makes the look. And that includes this year’s Winter Wonderland.”

In keeping with the spirit of the season, Viva la Cottage will donate 10% of the day’s sales to HELP of Door County.

Viva la Cottage will be closed October 18 through October 22 to prepare for Winter Wonderland, and will reopen at 10 am on October 23.
