Wisconsin Council on Forestry Wants to Hear From You

In collaboration with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, the Wisconsin Council on Forestry (WCF) is hosting two virtual listening sessions to gather input from those in the forest-products industry, conservationists, recreation enthusiasts and residents.

The first session took place May 6; the second is set for May 11, 6-8 pm, when Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes is scheduled to participate.

After gathering feedback, the WCF will work with UW-Extension to develop new priorities and goals for diversifying Wisconsin’s $24 billion-plus forest-products industry and sustainably managing the state’s 17 million-plus acres of forests. The plan will allow Wisconsin to seek federal money and assistance for an industry that provides more than 63,000 full-time and part-time jobs in the state.
