Wisconsin Solar Tour Includes Door County Sites

To help increase energy awareness of renewable energy, Lake Michigan Wind and Sun will open its doors for free solar tours on Oct. 6 from 10 am to 4 pm. This annual event hosted by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association is to showcase the renewable energy systems and energy efficient aspects of sites around the state.

The solar industry continues to boom. The public is encouraged to visit Lake Michigan Wind and Sun’s site, or any of the other sites listed on the Wisconsin Solar tour website (midwestrenew.org/solartour) to learn about reducing dependence on fossil fuels, lowering energy usage and lessening your energy bill.

Last year 250 people visited one of 46 host sites across Wisconsin. It’s a great opportunity for the public to learn first-hand from site owners about their renewable energy systems and green building techniques.

Lake Michigan Wind and Sun has combined energy efficiency and renewable energy to be a model in a cleaner future. Lake Michigan Wind and Sun takes part in this experience as a business owner with renewable energy systems and energy efficiency retrofits, as it can be applied to just about any home or business.

The Wisconsin Solar Tour is part of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) National Solar Tour, the largest grassroots solar event in the nation, involving about 150,000 participants and 5,000 solar-energy sites nationwide in October.
