Women’s Fund Announces 2016 Spring Cycle Grants

The Women’s Fund of Door County is pleased to announce the 2016 Spring Grant Cycle awards. Sustainability grants will be given to the following nonprofits: Altrusa Club of Door County – supplying disadvantaged girls with school supplies, shoes and registration fees for the new school year; Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEW – one-to-one youth mentoring, matching 125+ Door County youth to mentors in 2016; Boys & Girls Club of Door County – Tool Time with Tim Herlache, teaching girls to be more self reliant with household projects and to develop hands-on skills for basic building, engine care, plumbing and electrical work; Prevent Suicide DC Nathan Wilson Coalition – Year of the Woman, providing suicide prevention QPR training for area women’s and girls’ groups; United Way – DC Partnership for Children & Families, helping Door County children achieve school readiness through parent education, resource mapping, provider education and community collaboration; and Write On Door County – Girls Camp Out, helping girls in grades 9-12 celebrate the power of reading and writing while engaging in outdoor physical activities at Newport State Park.

The Women’s Fund of Door County awards grants twice annually to support and enrich the lives of women and girls in our community by encouraging her potential, by promoting her economic opportunity, by supporting her health and wellness, by fostering her appreciation for the arts and by recognizing and honoring her.
