The artwork of Lori Wier – an abstract painter who works primarily in acrylics on canvas – is now on display in Third Avenue Playhouse’s Lobby Gallery. She shows her work throughout Wisconsin and northern Illinois, and 12 of her original paintings are in private collections.
Wier is also a professional musician who plays violin and viola, so music is a driving force in her artwork and an inspiration for her bold colors and heavily detailed compositions. She finds inspiration in science as well – especially astronomy and molecular biology – and strives to bring an aerial perspective to her paintings.
Wier’s art and music studios are located in Algoma.
