Writing Transformations

Karen Hering

The UU Fellowship and Write On, Door County are co-sponsoring a writing workshop, “Transformation in the world and in our lives: Writing Our Way toward a New Day,” on Feb. 23 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.

Karen Hering, workshop presenter, explains the focus: “This afternoon invites you to witness and pay homage to the transformative forces moving within our world and also in your own heart and life. For writers and non-writers alike, this is a chance to explore both the possibilities and the challenges that transformation presents.”

Hering is the author of Writing to Wake the Soul: Opening the Sacred Conversation Within, published by Atria Books of Simon & Schuster and Beyond Words in 2013. Her consulting literary ministry, rooted at Unity-Church Unitarian in St. Paul, presents programs and retreats that engage writing as a spiritual practice and a tool for social action. She also serves as a chaplain for Goodwill of North Central Wisconsin. Learn more about Hering at karenhering.com. She will also be the guest speaker at the UU Fellowship on Feb. 23 at 10 am.

The workshop fee is $10; advanced registration before Feb. 21 is appreciated. All are welcome. To register, call 854.7559 or email [email protected]. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim.
