YMCA Summer Food Program at Gibraltar Schools

June 18 was the first time a lunch program has been in place at Gibraltar Schools within the last four years, according to Summer School Principal Tim Mulrain.

For the past seven years, the YMCA administered a free Summer Food Program, growing from four sites to 11 in 2017. This year two more distribution sites were added, one at Gibraltar School and one at the YMCA in Fish Creek.

Even after summer school is finished, lunches are available at the Fish Creek YMCA. There are picnic tables and there food is available to any person 18 and below.

The chef at the Boys & Girls Club in Sturgeon Bay has been enlisted to assemble the healthy lunches. The YMCA brings coolers of food to the distribution points, using the van recently purchased with funds raised at the YMCA Gala this year.
