Yoga Art Workshop at the YMCA

Unleash your whimsical creative side with Kelli’s Art of Yoga workshop on Sept. 14, 10 am – 12 pm, at the YMCA Sturgeon Bay Center. This two-hour workshop is ideal for all yoga students, both experienced practitioners and those who are brand new to yoga and are curious about the benefits of yoga and how art expression can tap into those benefits. After a half-hour of yoga, Kelli Torpey will lead participants through an extended guided meditation designed to relax and rejuvenate.

The art portion of the workshop does not require any experience in drawing or creating art. There will be a specific topic suggested and a variety of art materials available. No previous experience necessary.

The cost is $35 for YMCA members, $40 for community members, and $20 for participants below age 18. To register, call 920.743.4949 or visit doorcountyymca.org.

Torpey brings 10 years of experience in teaching yoga and six years of experience in art therapy as part of Kelli’s Art of Yoga workshops. Her original concept began while she participated in Door County’s The Hardy Gallery Exposure To Creativity (ETC) Program at Gibraltar High School in December 2010 where she taught “The Art of Yoga” to 25 high school seniors.
