2010 Winter Festival Calendar of Events

The 23rd Annual Fish Creek Winter Festival will take place on February 5, 6 and 7. Organized by the Fish Creek Civic Association, the festivities will occur throughout town with the highlighted return of the giant tent in Clark Park on Saturday.

Friday, February 5

• All Day – Carving of ice sculptures outside Fish Creek businesses

• 6:30 – 10 pm – Rock and Roll Art Night at Hands On Art Studio (21 and older)

Saturday, February 6

• 7 – 11 am – Great American Pancake Show at Gibraltar Fire Station

• 9 – 10 am – Make Your Own Kite for kids at the YMCA

• 10 am – 5 pm – Winter Wine and Cherry Festival at Orchard Country Winery

• 10 am – 4 pm – Kites Over the Bay on the ice in Fish Creek harbor

• 10:30 am – Parade down Main Street and ending at the tent

• 11 am – 5 pm – Winter Fest in the heated tent at Clark Park with raffle prizes, DJ music, and more!

– Family-friendly games: minnow racing, ice bowling, bike toss, toilet seat toss, snowshoe dance, closest to the pin, and more! All proceeds from the Winter Games in the tent benefit Door County non-profits.

– Great food and drinks: brats, hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, chili, hot chocolate, beer, glogg, and more!

• 11 am – 3 pm – “Soup!” Benefit at the Peninsula School of Art – hand-made bowls and homemade soup buffet

• 11:30 am – Kid’s Treasure Hunt at Top of the Hill Shops

• 11:30 am – 3:30 pm – Free Trolley Rides throughout town

• 2 – 3 pm – Chili Cook-Off contestants bring chili to the tent for judging at 3 pm.

• 3 pm – Snowshoe Dance at the tent

• 3 pm – Dark – Chili Cook-Off at the tent with an all-you-care-to-sample for all

• 5:30 – 8 pm – Candlelight Ski (or Hike if conditions are poor) at Peninsula State Park

• 7 – 9 pm – Door County Idol at Door Community Auditorium

• 9 pm – 12 am – Live music by Big Mouth at Alexander’s Restaurant

Sunday, February 7

• 10:10 am – Fish Creek’s First Annual Fruit Loop – 1/2 Mile Fun Run, beginning and ending at the tent with a Fruit Loop breakfast to follow.

• All Day – Stay for the Super Bowl! Businesses will be open for shopping and dining.
