Celebrating Winter 2010 Schedule of Events

The Washington Island Chamber in conjunction with the Washington Island Lions Club welcome everyone to their mid-winter Fishing Derby and other “Snowflake Style!” events happening Feb. 6 through Feb. 14. Local restaurants will be serving specialty meals all week long.

Saturday, February 6

• Fish Derby Fishing Tournament starts today.

• Island Photo Contest – drop off pictures at Washington Island Ferry Lobby.

• Ice Sculpture Contest at various locations.

Friday, February 12

• 5 – 7 pm – Ableskievers Dinner served by Bethel Builders at Bethel Church. Community is welcome.

Saturday, February 13

• 11:30 am – 1:30 pm – Washington Island Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook-off at K.K. Fiske/Granary. All entries welcome, and everyone invited to come taste the judge’s decision!

• 5 pm – Pig Roast with all the trimmings at Karly’s.

Sunday, February 14

• Last day of 2010 Fishing Derby.

• noon – 3 pm – Lions Club Lunch and Bingo at Nelsen’s Hall where Fish Derby winners and other contest winners will be announced. Desserts/bake sale available by Student Council.
