4 Eagles Earn All-Conference Honors

Judging by the All-Packerland Conference wrestling team, Southern Door looks as though it could have a successful season next year.

The conference coaches honored four wrestlers, including state-tournament entrant Grant Englebert at 160 pounds. Alec Guilette (113), Kyle Conard (138) and Riley Phillips (195) also earned All-Conference honors. 

Griffin Slezewski, who qualified for the state meet at 126 pounds, was edged out of All-Conference honors by state champion and conference Wrestler of the Year Jack Severin.

“We should be tougher next year with all five back, plus a number of eighth-graders coming up,” said Southern Door Coach Jerry Englebert.
