Stage Door Theatre’s Almost, Maine will be performed through Oct. 14 with special matinee performances on Oct. 7 at 2 pm and Oct. 14 at 3 pm. Almost, Maine is a romantic comedy written by John Cariani and directed by James Valcq.
Almost, Maine is composed of nine short plays exploring love and loss in a remote, mythical place called Almost, Maine. It premiered at the Portland Stage Company in Portland, Maine where it broke box office records and garnered critical acclaim. Almost, Maine is now the most produced play in North American high schools, recently supplanting Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The cast for this production includes Amy Ensign, Chad Luberger, Anne St. Henry and Ryan Patrick Shaw.
The Almost, Maine performance on Oct. 5 will benefit the United Way of Door County; half of the box office proceeds will go to this organization. Oct. 5 is also “First Friday” night in Sturgeon Bay, so there will be live music with singer/songwriter Kory Murphy in the theater lobby from 6:30 pm until show time.
Almost, Maine will be performed nightly (except Mondays) at 7:30. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors and active military, and $10 for students.
