Alpine Restoration Update

Alpine Golf Course clubhouse manager Dennis Krishka will soon start taking tee times, with a scheduled reopening on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Krishka said the buyer of the course and the historical Egg Harbor resort still wanted to remain anonymous as of May 14, but he has big plans, including course updates, removing 120 dead trees, short-term renovation work on the clubhouse now and a major remodel next winter.

Greens fees have not yet been locked in, but Krishka will offer low spring rates. He said golfers should realize that a couple of greens need some reconditioning, and parts of the course will be under repair.

In addition to the White and Red nines, golfers may choose to play a 19th and 20th hole: Blue No. 1 and Alpine’s signature hole, Blue No. 9. Krishka said the new owner would like to give players a chance to hit shots from the clifftop tee, one of the county’s most scenic vistas. A temporary green will be in place because the Blue No. 9 green is under reconstruction.
