Sample great writing and great wine as six of the region’s best romance novelists come together for a late afternoon of wine and romance. Join authors Valerie Clarizio, Patti Fiala, Virginia McCullough, Steve Mitchell, Mary Grace Murphy, and Barbara Raffin at Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery, 9197 Hwy. 42, Fish Creek, on October 2, 4 – 6 pm. Cost of the event is $10, which covers light snacks and wine tasting. This event is presented in collaboration with Write On, Door County.

The authors will read excerpts from their work, sign copies of their books, and visit with readers. Enjoy samplings of the award-winning wines of the family-owned winery and light hors d’oeuvres.

Clarizio lives in Door County with her husband and two spoiled cats. She’s an outdoors enthusiast, of which her favorite activity is hiking in national parks. While out on the trails, she has plenty of time to conjure up irresistible characters and unique storylines for her next romantic suspense or sweet contemporary romance novel. She is the author of Unforeseen Obsessions, Taken by Surprise, and the Nick Spinelli Mystery Series.

Fiala is a wife of 30 years, a mother of four grown children and the grandmother of three grandchildren. When not writing a new story, she can be found riding her motorcycle and exploring this fabulous country. Her writing includes the Rolling Thunder series and the Second Chances series.

Award-winning author McCullough started her career writing magazine articles about women’s issues, children’s literature and sailing. She has co-authored and ghostwritten more than 100 nonfiction books for doctors, therapists and professional speakers. Three of her five novels are set in Wisconsin, including Greta’s Grace which is set in Door County.

As a writer of paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy romance, S.C. Mitchell crafts unique and wondrous worlds where characters explore, romp, and fall in love. His eight novels include Seeds of Immortality, Swiftly Beats the Heart, and Son of Thunder.

A retired teacher, Murphy found a way to combine her love of reading and eating by authoring the culinary mystery series, Noshes Up North. In her books, readers will find a big helping of food, a dash of mystery, and a sprinkle of romance.

Award-winning author Raffin creates stories and adventures where she can explore her love of words and the human psyche. Whether a romantic romp or gothic-flavored suspense, her books have one common denominator: characters who are wounded, passionate and searching for love. She is the creator of the contemporary romance/suspense series about the St. John siblings and their friends.
