• Scholarships Inc of Door and Brown County still has scholarship funding available for students who plan on attending two-year colleges next fall. Applications will be accepted through April 30. • The Town of Egg Harbor will discuss the idea of selling its half ownership of Egg Harbor Fire Station #1 at its annual meeting April 13. The Town and Village of Egg Harbor have struggled to come to a new cost-sharing agreement.

For the transaction to proceed forward, permission must be obtained from a majority of attendees at the annual meeting. The village has offered the town $85,000, which is one-half the station’s appraised value. The second Egg Harbor Fire Station on County I is wholly owned by the town.

The next joint meeting of the village and town boards is April 21 at 6 pm at the Town Hall on County I, Carlsville.

• The Door County Half Marathon is looking for volunteers to help assemble runners packets April 26 – 28. • The Door County Parks committee will consider a request to have dogs banned from all county parks at its next meeting. At the committee’s March meeting a citizen requested that all dogs be banned from county parks because she is allergic to them. The committee could not discuss the request at the meeting because it wasn’t an agenda item, so it was put on the April agenda.

The Parks Committee meeting is April 7 at 8:30 pm at the Door County Government Center, 421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay.
