April 2 Election Results

School Referendums –

Three out of four of the revenue limit override referendums on the ballot passed, with Washington Island, Sturgeon Bay, and Sevastopol School District voters saying yes to continued local funding in their districts, while voters in the Southern Door School District chose to not approve their referendum.

Sevastopol:

Yes – 979 votes, 71.67%

No – 387 votes, 28.33%

Southern Door:

No – 1503 votes, 59.31%

Yes – 1031 votes, 40.69%

Sturgeon Bay:

Yes – 1094 votes, 63.13%

No – 639 votes, 36.87%

Washington Island:

Yes – 214 votes, 52.58%

No – 193 votes, 47.42%

Contested School Board Races –

Southern Door voters elected incumbent Steve Bretl and newcomer Del Schmelzer to their school board.

Steve Bretl – 1318 votes, 34.06%

Del Schmelzer 1304 votes, 33.70%

Heidi Guschow – 1239 votes, 32.02%

Contested Municipal Races – 

Village of Ephraim

Incumbent Jane Olson and newcomer JIm Stollenwerk were elected trustees.

Jane Olson – 93 votes, 38.27%

Jim Stollenwerk – 79 votes, 32.51%

Michael Smith – 70 votes, 28.81%

Village of Forestville

Incumbent Terry McNulty was re-elected as board president, while incumbent Don Londo and newcomer Scott Pinchart were elected to the Board of Trustees.

President:

Terry McNulty – 119 votes, 68.39%

David Miller 55 votes, 31.61%

Trustee:

Scott Pinchart – 96 votes, 34.66%

Don Londo – 83 votes, 29.96%

William Sperber – 52 votes, 18.77%

Village of Sister Bay

Incumbent Scott Baker was re-elected to the Board of Trustees along with newcomer Donna Scattergood, who beat out incumbent John Clove for the second spot by just two votes.

Scott Baker – 182 votes, 28.71%

Donna M Scattergood – 173 votes, 27.29%

John Clove – 171 votes, 26.97%

Town of Brussels –

Newcomers Mark Marchant and Joel Daoust were elected to serve as Brussels Supervisor 1 and 2 respectively, beating out incumbents Galen DeJardin and Jarrod Parks.

Supervisor 1:

Mark Marchant – 238 votes, 59.20%

Galen DeJardin 164 votes, 40.80%

Supervisor 2:

Joel Daoust – 205 votes, 51.77%

Jarrod Parks – 191 votes, 48.23%

Town of Liberty Grove –

Incumbents Frank Forkert and Nancy Goss were re-elected to their position on the town’s Board of Supervisors.

Frank Forkert – 344 votes, 35.03%

Nancy Goss – 336 votes, 34.22%

Michael Mercier – 296 votes, 30.14%

Town of Union –

Incumbent town chairperson Cletus Fontaine lost to challenger Dennis Counard, while incumbent town supervisor Ron Renard defeated challenger Amanda Jeanquart.

Chairperson:

Dennis Lee Counard – 193 votes, 51.19%

Cletus Fontaine – 184 votes, 48.81%

Supervisor 2:

Ron Renard – 227 votes, 61.02%

Amanda Jeanquart – 145 votes, 38.98%

Town of Washington –

Incumbent board chairperson Joel Gunnlaugsson held on to his position, as did incumbent town supervisor Randall S Sorensen. John Rader won the other supervisor position with 247 write-in votes.

Chairperson:

Joel Gunnlaugsson – 285 votes, 65.97%

Gordon Jaeger – 140 votes, 32.41%

Supervisor:

Randall Sorensen – 267 votes, 39.80%

Tom Jordan – 157 votes, 23.40%

Write-in votes – 247 votes, 36.81%

Statewide Races –

Door County followed the state and helped re-elect Justice Pat Roggensack to the Wisconsin Supreme Court and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers.

State Superintendent County-wide:

Tony Evers – 4799 votes, 69.41%

Don Pridemore – 2100 votes, 30.37%

State Superintendent State-wide:

Evers – 475,339 votes, 61%

Pridemore – 301,132 votes, 39%

Supreme Court County-wide:

Pat Roggensack – 3949 votes, 53.03%

Ed Fallone – 3494 votes, 46.92%

Supreme Court State-wide:

Roggensack – 478,420 votes, 57%

Fallone – 355,591 votes, 43%
