Artists of the World

An artist travels by packing a bag and their job. The world can supply inspiration and subject matter. This allows art to translate living experience of different lands and cultures into visual expressions.

Cooking smells outside of a café. The sea breeze in a fishing harbor. A famous citizen walking along a pathway in winter cold. All could suggest artwork and will allow the sharing of the artist’s life and their skill in capturing the experience.

Meadows Art Gallery is proud to show the works of Ed Fenendael and Frank Villigan in the exhibit, Artists of the World. The show will be installed Aug. 2 and will be up through Sept. 2. A reception will be held Aug. 4, 2-4 pm.

Their travels to faraway places such as France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Egypt, China and Mexico are shared in the paintings and drawings that these very travels helped to create. The artists’ sketchbooks will also be displayed.

The Meadows Art Gallery, open 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located in Scandia Village in Sister Bay. Turn right off Highway 57 onto Canterbury Lane, then turn right at Applewood Road and drive to the main entrance of Scandia Village. Keep right at the first hallway to reach the gallery.
