Friday, September 22

Washington Island Literary Festival

It’s a literary lover’s retreat this weekend on Washington Island, as the peninsula’s top hat welcomes a host of writers, authors and readers to fifth annual literary festival. Built on the theme of “Exploring Frontiers, Real and Imagined,” this year’s fest welcomes a host of authors working in a variety of genres, from memoir to poetry.

Autumnfest in Baileys Harbor

What better way to usher in the new season than with a festival designed to celebrate it? Head over to Door County’s quiet side for Autumnfest, offering a schedule full of live music, food and drink, arts and crafts, and a classic auto and motorcycle show.

Find Fall at Newport

Join a naturalist of Newport State Park on the tip of the peninsula to explore the changing flora and fauna of Door County’s only wilderness park. 10 am.

An Artsy Affair

Art lovers will get their fill with the Settlement Shops’ Fall Art Fair, featuring paintings, pottery, jewelry, and yard art by regional and local artists. Satisfy your appetite with lunch from Sweetie Pies and kick back to the tunes of violinist Gerald Field. 10 am.

Augie’s Blues Experiment

Close out your day with the rip rockin’ blues of Augie’s Blues Experiment, playing at the Door County Brewing Company & Music Hall on Saturday evening. 7 pm.

Sunday, September 24

Will Durst Comedy

Comedian, columnist, actor, author, and former oyster shucker Will Durst presents his new solo outing, Durst Case Scenario, a comedic exploration of how America is changing during the Time of Trump. 7:30 pm.

Percussion & Piano

Discourse coffee in Sister Bay opens its doors for a literal coffeehouse concert Sunday evening as it invites percussionist and pianist Luke Rivard and Matt Blair to the Door. 7 pm.
