Barney Fun Run Will Benefit Ben Anderson

The sixth annual Barney Fun Run and Walk (and plunge for anyone who wants to join Steve “Barney” Willems for a swim) takes place at 11 am Saturday, April 20.

Sister Bay Bowl (The Bowl) will donate proceeds this year to Ben Anderson.

“Ben is a Door County native that is in need of help with medical expenses for some unknown health issues that have recently arisen,” organizers noted on Facebook. “Ben is one of the most selfless and generous people you will ever know. He’s saved the lives of two strangers through bone marrow donation and as a living liver donor to a 3-year-old boy. Ben is also the son of Tammy Jo Anderson who is a longtime, loyal employee to The Bowl.”

There is no registration or fee, but donations will be accepted.

Organizers encourage participants to wear T-shirts from previous years. Shirts from years past are available for a $10 suggested donation.

Doors open at 10 am and refreshments are available. The Bowl is located at 10640 N. Bay Shore Drive, Sister Bay.
